Memphis Wrestling broadcasts the matches that are performed by the wrestling association of the same name. Each episode includes several matches, most of which are performed by young talent looking to gain experience, though a few veteran wrestlers are also on the roster. This series that airs weekly in Syndication debuted on 16 May 2003 titled “Memphis Wresting: Home of Rhythm and Bruise”. The series was recorded at, produced at and broadcast from the WLMT TV studios channel 30 in Memphis, Tennessee. It began airing in the 11AM, CST slot and Noon in the EST zone. In 2006 the series was renamed “Memphis Wrestling Prime Time” and began airing in the 10PM, CST slot and 11PM, EST. This series also airs in Canada on the Fight Network and on the TWC Fight channel in both the UK and Ireland.
The Memphis wrestling organization has been around since the early 1950’s. Some of the more well known personalities who have appeared in this organization at one time during its’ early years include: Austin Idol, Bill Dundee, Bob Armstrong, Jack Brisco, Jimmy ‘Boogie Woogie Man’ Valiant, King Kong Bundy Mr. Wrestling, Paul Orndorff, Terry Taylor and Tommy Rich. Some of the more recent personalities that have appeared in the 2000’s include Abdullah The Butcher, ‘Beautiful’ Bobby Eaton, Charlie Haas, Dennis Condrey, Doink the Clown, Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler, Hulk Hogan, Jimmy ‘Mouth of the South’ Hart, Ricky Morton, Robert Gibson, Sid Vicious and ‘ Sweet’ Stan Lane.
