  Episode Notes
This episode is based upon Ed McBain's novel The Con Man.

Daniel Boone fans might have a hard time recognizing Dal McKennon, playing a recurring role as a police surgeon, without his beard.

Robert Culp would later co-star with Bill Cosby in the NBC series I Spy.

Robert Lansing originally played Detective Steve Carella in the 1960 film The Pusher. He later said that the producers of the TV series claimed to be unaware of this when they cast him in the role.

Victor Sen Yung would go onto play cook Hop Sing on Bonanza.

It's revealed in this episode that Steve and Teddy Carella sleep in the same bed instead of using twin beds like most married TV couples did during the time period in which the show aired. They must have been one of the first TV couples to do so.

  Episode Quotes
Curt: (to Teddy) Men don't like me but women do.

Kling: Meyer! That was Claire!
Meyer: Not very friendly, was she?

Chan: (to Carella about Teddy) Very pretty wife. You lucky detective.

Carella: (to Meyer from the water) Throw me down the bailing hook. I got a piece of garbage down here.
