Hino Kahoko attends a music academy which was long ago founded by a musician who was in love with music. One day, he came a cross a fairy named Lili, who was badly hurt. After healing him, Lili helped the man to create said academy for all who felt a desire to learn more about music. There, the students are divided into two groups: those who have musical talent wear the beige uniforms and those who are normal students wear the traditional gray.
Lili, however, is not a fairy that all have the ability to see. Quite the contraryâ only a few can see him. And those that can, are chosen to participate in the school's music contestâ the concours. Hino is one of these few people. But being a regular student, she has no musical talent whatsoever. So, Lili gives her a magic violin, which he says all have the power to play. At first she is against it, but eventually warms up to the idea of competing and agrees.
Hino meets the other competitors, seeing what it's like to be in the other half of the academy. While practicing and through a series of small competitions, Hino must try hard to ignore the pressure and the prejudice she faces as she prepares for the main event of the concours.
