IGN just put up an early episode review of "Survival of the Fittest."

The Spectacular Spider-Man: "Survival of the Fittest" Advance Review
Our early look at the first episode of the new Spider-Man animated series.

February 26, 2008 - This past weekend at WonderCon, I was among the Spider-Man fans gathered to see the first episode of the new animated series The Spectacular Spider-Man. Usually I don't bother doing so in a review, but with a character with this much history, I figured maybe I should qualify my level of Spidey fandom and reveal that I began reading Spider-Man comics as a kid in 1983 -- in the midst of Roger Stern's big Hobgoblin story, shortly before the black suit was introduced -- and have been a collector ever since. Oh, and One More Day? Horrible, horrible story/idea.

The Spectacular Spider-Man is aimed at a younger audience… you know, those little people called kids. There's already been some fan complaints about this, but to me, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with a kid-oriented Spider-Man series. He's a character kids love and this is after all a Saturday morning series. One More Day is ridiculous for undoing two decades of stories and trying to ignore the mostly adult fandom the comics have at this point, but when it comes to completely different continuities and medium exploring the character, why can't there be room for a youth-aimed Spidey series? There's plenty of us who came to know and love the character thanks to The Electric Company and Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends after all, which are hardly known for their hard-hitting, edgy stories.

..review continues..

So, anyone looking forward to this series?

It's been great -- Greg Weisman (creator of Gargoyles) has been doing some great stuff with this series!
