Emperor Palpatine, sometimes called Darth Sidious, was introduced in the original Star Wars trilogy. Palpatine is portrayed as an aged, cowled, and pale-faced figure. Howdy Doody was a marionette who appeared on a children's show by the same name. It ran for nearly 13 years.
