From the Farrelly Brothers, Unhitched is about a group of newly single thirtysomethings in Boston as they relearn the rules of dating and go through the difficult task of starting over. Each of the group would love to get remarried, but finding that special someone is harder then they remember. Jack "Gator" Gately (Craig Bierko) is likable, charismatic and never dreamed that he would be single again, but he's making the best of single life. With his single buddies, Gator chronicles their misadventures as a list of dating tips, such as "learn to identify gang tattoos" and "Pretty Woman is not a documentary".

Gator's buddies include his best friend Tommy (Johnny Sneed), a three-time divorcée and founder of a microbrewery. Tommy falls in love easily and hopes that his fourth marriage will be the one that sticks. Freddy (Shaun Majumder) is Gator's college roommate, a successful surgeon who takes his recent divorce harder than the others in the gang. And lastly there's Kate (Rashida Jones), an attorney who handled each of the mens' divorces. But Kate has also found herself single after being dumped following a seven year engagement. She too enters the dating realm but finds that "the one" may be closer than she thinks.
