British series which aired in the United States on PBS as part of the series Mystery! dealing with the legal adventures (and misadventures) of scruffy British barrister Horace Rumpole (Leo McKern). Some of the series dealt with Rumpole's relationship with his wife, Hilda, otherwise known as "She Who Must Be Obeyed" but most of it concerned Rumpole's taking on nearly impossible cases for sometimes unsavory clients.
