Birdboy, voiced by Dick Beals (1)
Birdboy was an occasional sidekick of Birdman. A boy and his father discovered an island well equipped with weapons. They decided to report their find, but the island's owner wished to keep his home a secret, so he destroyed their boat. In this accident, Birdboy lost his memory and his father disappeared, perhaps killed. Birdman gave him a transfusion of solar power and a set of mechanical wings, enabling him to serve as a sidekick. His powers were similar but less potent than Birdman's, and his control of them was less skilled. However, on several occasions his help spelled the difference between success and failure for the avian superhero. Birdboy's appearance was very similar to Birdman's. The two important differences were the mechanical wings, and Birdboy's helmet, which lacked the crest found on Birdman's helment. |
