X destroys a robot rocket to draw Birdman in, then traps him with a vice ray and drops him into a pit, but not before relieving him of the crest that's worth a million dollars. Unless Avenger can help him in time, Birdman is finished!

Soon enough, she reveals her true colors, when she helps Mentarr steal some atomic shells from an arsenal. And when Birdman arrives, she manages to capture him, too! Fortunately, she does not know the source of his powers, so when he asks for a final glimpse of the sun, she's willing to grant that last request. And then Doctor Mentarr reveals his true colors...

DIspatching them and stealing a spaceship, he flees to the abandoned world Z-10, and there seizes control of its machinery in time to confront the arriving Galactic Trio. The Trio barely evades destruction, but Computron captures Vapor Man with a vacuum device, and then transforms him into an obedient robot! Worse, Computron orders his new servant to destroy the other two members of the Trio! Only quick thinking on the part of Gravity Girl can salvage this situation.

And this time, they distract him by kidnapping Avenger and demanding Birdman allow them to escape with a prisoner in exchange for the eagle's safe return! But Birdman has a plan for finding F.E.A.R.

Together as Birdman and Birdboy, they seek out the Barracuda. But th villain's magnetizer beam captures Birdman, who then learns how the Barracuda intends to start a global war!
