Jamie's 1920s French-Normandy home, with its dramatic peaks and arches, has been infused with bright modern colors on the inside, but Jamie can't help but be embarrassed by her junky, weed-ridden front yard. The yard is a major focal point before walking up the long staircase to the home's main entrance. Jamie ultimately longs for a pleasant front entry that is welcoming and private.

Teri and her baby, Luke, recently moved into their 1950s-style home. Teri loves the open floor plan, spacious rooms and the multitude of windows that allow light to flood in and provide a great view of her backyard. Outside, a fountain leads to a spa and pool, making for a lovely backdrop but, along with the prickly plants, not a child-friendly space. Teri envisions a new garden that reflects her classic taste, caters to her and her young son's needs, and allows for entertaining guests comfortably.

Carolyn and Dale Preator are very proud of the renovations they undertook in their New-England-style home, but they are ashamed of the dirt piles which accumulated in their backyard during construction. Although the couple's three dogs have been having a grand time playing in the dirt yard, the Preators now want to reclaim their backyard for themselves. They want to have a much more welcoming place to relax and entertain and they'd like it to be dog-friendly to a degree. Since the Preators recently refinished their pool and love it, they'd like the new landscape to tie in with the new pool and also the home's newly renovated interiors.

Leslie and Aaron Kahlenberg are huge fans of '50s memorabilia. Their home showcases many of their unique collections but it's not guest-friendly, so when friends come over, the Kahlenbergs would like their backyard to be the primary entertaining space. They'd also like the outdoor space to exhibit some 50s flair. With their first child on the way, the Kahlenbergs are eager to create a wonderful backyard in which to relax, entertain and enjoy nature with their new baby.

John and Angelie love their Cape Cod house. They especially love the open airy feel of the high ceilings and many French doors and windows. Since their lifestyle has changed dramatically with the addition of their two children, they'd like to have a nice outdoor space that is safe and fun for the entire family.

They are ready to work on the backyard and want a lush outdoor space that will match the look of their home. In addition, it needs to be family-friendly for their new baby boy, Branden, and their dog.

Sharon and Thomas Gourley and their two children live in a custom built home just minutes from the Las Vegas strip. Other than a pool, the backyard is just a collection of rocks, dirt and tumbleweed. The Gourleys hope to transform the barren landscape surrounding the pool into a safer, more enjoyable place where the family can play and relax. They would especially like something lush and tropical to remind them of their wedding in Hawaii.
