Verliebt in Berlin, based on the Colombian telenovela Yo Soy Betty La Fea, is a successful German telenovela. Lisa Plenske (Alexandra Neldel) is an inteligent and kind, but naive and not so beautiful young woman. She is set in the often cold and superficial fashion business. She lives in a rural suburb of Berlin and she tries to get a job in a big city in 'Kerima' fashion company. Surprisingly, she becomes an assistant of David Seidel (Mathis Künzler), CEO of this company. Lisa has to bear nasty jibes from her colleagues in the beginning. In some time Lisa falls in love with David. Meanwhile, she becomes more involved in personal and professional relations of the company.
After 365 episodes, the story about Lisa ended with a happy end, in which she married David and left Berlin with him. But the show continued with the story about Lisa's half brother Bruno Lehmann (Tim Sander) and the young designer Hannah Refrath (Laura Osswald). With episode 645 the story about Bruno and Hannah ended, also with an happy end. With the second happy end, it was the end for the show as well.
