"Jambo" (Swahili for “Greetings” and rhymes with Mambo) — a live-action Ivan Tors animal series hosted and narrated by “Daktari” star Marshall Thompson. Marshall Thompson is the host-narrator of NBC's Jambo. Familiar with the African scene he brings first-hand knowledge to the show. He spent seven months in Africa for his roles in Daktari, "East of Kilimanjaro" and the forerunner of the Daktari series, "Clarence, the Cross-Eyed Lion."
Each episode highlights different animals in personalized, real- life adventure stories. Filmed on three continents and under two oceans.
