Heathcliff (1980) was a two season animated TV series. Heathcliff is a bad tempered, mischievous orange cat with black stripes. Based on the Heathcliff comic strip and produced by Ruby-Spears Productions, the two seasons were very different.

The episodes that aired in the first season were divided in to four segments. Two Heathcliff centric episodes would air along with two Dingbat centric episodes. This resulted in the original season being known as "Heathcliff and Dingbat."

Season two episodes changed to three segments. An episode centered around the character Marmaduke would air, followed by a Heathcliff episode, and the show would close with another Marmaduke episode. Similar to the first season, this final season was commonly referred to as "Heathcliff and Marmaduke."

Two years after ending, a new series titled Heathcliff (1984) began to air. Reruns can currently be seen Boomerang.
