Series 1 |
| 1 :01x01 - Episode 1 (Jan/13/2008) | Laura, the oldest child in the Timmins family, sets off for a new life and work in nearby Candleford when a new baby arrives in the family.
Candleford is the market town which provides services such as the Post Office where she finds herself starting her new job working for the Postmistress Dorcas Lane.
Tensions start to run high between Larkrise and Candleford over the poorer community having to pay for telegram deliveries, while Candleford do not, due to Larkrise supposedly being more than 8 miles away – the Postmistress and local Squire Sir Timothy quietly scheme to resolve the issue for both sides saving face.
Bubbly neighbour to the Timmins, Caroline Arless, gets herself caught up with debt and the threat of prison when she succumbs to a barrel of beer on credit.

Robert manages to upset his family and the residents of the village when he refuses to let his children sing a song in praise of the Tories at the local church concert. | |

| 7 :01x07 - Episode 7 (Feb/24/2008) | | The residents are shocked after Sam Brady is arrested for hitting his wife. Emma attempts to try and persuade Sam from drinking again. Lady Adelaide is fed up with Timothy's friendship with Dorcas. | |

| 8 :01x08 - Episode 8 (Mar/02/2008) | | I this episode the main story is the new school master Mr Delafield. He doesn't get off to the best starts with Dorcus the post mistress but things change when a tree on Sir Timothy's estate was weakened in a storm the previous night, it reminds Dorcus and Timothy of their childhood love for one another. They begin to show their feelings but Dorcus decides its time to move on. Timothy doesn't like the idea and from then on trys to sabotage Delafield and Dorcus' relationship. Timothy then finds a way to get Delafield out leaves Dorcus upset. It is very clear they still love each other. When Adelaide hears that Dorcus likes Delafield she immeadiately perks up from her sullness. | |

| 23 :03x01 - Series 3, Episode 1 (Jan/10/2010) | | The Timmins family receive some news from Daniel Parish after he shows up in Lark Rise. Emma learns she has been left a huge inheritance from her aunt who has died and Daniel wants to write an article on the story. Emma is worried about how the money will change her and Robert's lives. Daniel and Laura connect over their passion of writing. Laura is upset though when Daniel writes an article using personal things she has told him. Emma finds out that there are others also entitled to some of her aunt's money and is happy that her life wont be changing as much after all. Daniel tries to make amends with Laura. | |

| 24 :03x02 - Series 3, Episode 2 (Jan/17/2010) | Daniel continues to try and get back into Laura's good books after returning to Candleford. After running into Robert, Daniel agrees not to contact Laura until he made it up to everyone that he has upset. When a tree starts it bleed it causes strange behaviour amongst the locals. Emma refuses to accept Daniel's apologies and wants him to leave Lark Rise forever.
