When Shion was small her parents were killed in their own home while Shion got away without a scratch on her, but as she lost her voice because of the traumatic experience. The police only found one piece of evidence, and that was a shougi board and one piece, "the King". Shion was adpoted by her familys neighbours and it was them who taught her how to play shougi. Now, years after the incident she has become quite the famous player, she has even been called a genious. The fame also brings back horrible memories of her past but she also discovers that because of her ability to play shogi so well she might find her parents killer.
