I'm pretty excited for this show. It's a series where each episode is like a short horror film. There's no continuation in the series, and each episode is directed by a different horror expert. This premise is identical to that of Masters of Horror, one of my all-time favourite TV shows. Sadly, MoH recently ending after its second season, but that's why I am so excited for Fear Itself.

Both MoH and FI are created by Mick Garris, so there's even more reason for me to believe this show will be great. Even the promo picture for Fear Itself is much like that of the original episode of Masters of Horror.

Anyone else looking forward to Fear Itself?

Definitely. I saw the promo a little while ago and it looks great.

I came across an article about the directors, writers and actors. There's a lot of horror movie vets, so it ought to be good:

Quote:
A host of provocative directors, actors and writers - including award-winning directors John Landis ("An American Werewolf in London"), Darren Bousman ("Saw II, III and IV"), Ronny Yu ("Freddy vs. Jason," "Bride of Chucky"), Brad Anderson ("The Machinist"), Breck Eisner (upcoming Universal Pictures film "Creature from the Black Lagoon"), Mary Harron ("American Psycho"), Stuart Gordon ("Re-Animator") and Ernest Dickerson (NBC's "Heroes") - have been signed for NBC's "Fear Itself," a new 13-episode suspense and horror anthology series from Lionsgate in association with Industry Entertainment.

Brandon Routh ("Superman Returns"), Shiri Appleby ("Charlie Wilson's War"), Elisabeth Moss ("Mad Men"), Cynthia Watros ("Lost"), Eric Roberts (NBC's "Heroes"), John Billingsley (Star Trek: Enterprise"), Russell Hornsby ("Lincoln Heights"), Pablo Schreiber ("The Wire"), Stephen Lee ("Boston Legal"), Stephen R. Hart ("Shoot 'Em Up"), Jack Noseworthy ("Judging Amy") and Larry Gilliard Jr. ("The Wire") are among the sought-after actors who will be portraying various characters in three episodes of the series.

Among the writers set are Joe Gangemi ("Wind Chill," the novel "Inamorata"), Steve Niles ("30 Days of Night"), Dan Knauf ("Carnivale," "Supernatural"), Lem Dobbs ("The Score"), Matt Venne ("White Noise 2: The Light"), Richard Chizmar & Johnathan Schaech ("Masters of Horror," "From a Buick 8"), Victor Salva ("Jeepers Creepers"), Mick Garris ("Riding the Bullet," "Amazing Stories"), Drew McWeeny & Scott Swan ("Masters of Horror"), Kelly Kennemer ("The Music Within") and Max Landis ("Masters of Horror").

Even if he goes crazy, I will still call Chris "Superman"

What did everyone think?

I thought the story was a little dumb, the acting wasn't that great, the visual effects so-so.... and yet I still really liked it. Probably because it was something scripted and different from everything else out there on TV right now. I'm just happy to see new summer programming that's NOT reality-show crap.

I will watch again.

The story was a little weak, especially around the end when it pretty much turned into a standard vampire story, and it got a little hokey at times, but the beginning was decent.

I was happy, though, that the ending wasn't your typical "happily ever after."

I'll tune in next week. Beats reruns or reality shows.

It was exactly what I thought it would be. A PG Masters of Horror. Is that a bad thing? No. Did I love it? Yes.

"Spooked" was awesome. But then again it was directed by Brad Anderson. If anyone liked "Spooked" and hasn't seen The Machinist, check it out. It's Brad's best movie, and it has Christian Bale in it!

The second one was okay... I think the fact that it was Eric Roberts partially sullied it for me. Cynthia Watros almost made up for it, though. That was one creepy-ass house.

I made it halfway through and had to turn it off -- 1) The Soup was starting and 2) It didn't hold my interest. Fine, show. Be like that.
