• Merlin renewed |
Merlin, BBC One's hit Saturday night fantasy drama has been re-commissioned for a second series.
According to the December 13, 2008 BBC Press Office announcement, all the principal characters will be returning.
Also returning are Richard Wilson as court physician Gaius, Anthony Head as King Uther Pendragon, Angel Coulby as Gwen, Katie McGrath as Morgana and John Hurt as the voice of The Great Dragon.

Love the show.
Glad to see it's back and as for the Pendragon cycle, there is none ;p
It is myth and legend and there are multiple stories in different parts of the isles created over the centuries that may or may not have content used to create the Legend of Arthur.
Malory's version was apparently translated from French and were taken from the above rumors/legends hundreds of years earlier along with some welsh and celtic throw-ins for good measure.
It was nothing more than a great story written by an Englishman of dubious virtue for Kings, Courtiers and the like in the 1400's.
P.S.
The STORIES of Arthur/Merlin date back to Roman times and the 1400's were a good deal different to them.
There may well have been a round table and Romans sometimes used a "Dragon" standard in certain Leagues for Identification.
But they certainly never had the classy shiny armors and weapons portrayed in ANY media version of the Arthurian Legends. |
