Gun Shy


Gun Shy is a comedy western set in 1869 in Quake City that aired on CBS from March 15, 1983 to April 19, 1983. Russell Donovan (Barry Van Dyke) is a gambler who has won two children named Celia (Bridgette Anderson) and Clovis (played by two different actors, Keith Mitchell and Adam Rich). Also in the show are two wannabe outlaws, Theodore Ogilvie and Amos Tucker, one sheriff named Homer McCoy (also the barber and justice of the peace), one hotel owner named Nettie McCoy (ex-wife of Homer and the operator of the only hotel), and one stagecoach line (owned and operated by Colonel Mound).

The series is based on the 1975 movie The Apple Dumpling Gang, and its 1979 sequel The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again, both by Walt Disney's film company.
