Although Jimmy Nail cashed in on the fame from the ''Crocodile Shoes'' song, the actual writer of the song was Nail's friend, Tony McAnaney who wrote it back in 1995.
 
The script was originally written in 1989 by Jimmy Nail but fellow writer Ian La Frenais told him the script wasn't good enough. So in 1993 after cancelling ''Spender'' Nail wrote his corrections and improvements and showed them to the head of BBC at the time.

Although they were released on the complete soundtrack of the show on CD, the songs Bitter And Twisted and Angel don't feature in the show.
 
In Crocodile Shoes I, Bobby was played by Mike Elliott but in Crocodile Shoes II he is played by another actor, the reasons for this are unknown.
 
The main character, Jed Shepperd, is based on a friend of Jimmy Nail's.

After completing the Crocodile Shoes II soundtrack Jimmy Nail flew back to America where he was filming Evita with Madonna, she was the first person, except for Nail, to hear the finished mix.
