Grijpstra and De Gier are in charge of a transport of a criminal, during the transport the police car with the criminal in it is stopped by a truck. The criminal is freed and one of the cops is shot in the leg. De Gier tries to stop them from escaping, but he hits a hot-dog salesman in stead.
There must be a mole inside the police, otherwise they wouldn't have known where to free the criminal.
De Gier is too involved and is taken off the case, which he of course ignores.
