In this final episode, Jodie finds that Denise has cleared out, but left Warren behind with an overdoes of sleeping pills that had been mixed into his dinner the night before.
Jodie calls for an ambulance as Warren is still alive, though unconscious. Seeing the pill bottles in the kitchen, Jodie decides to lay them out on the coffee table so that it appears as though Warren was trying to commit suicide. It's a great plan initially, until Warren wakes up in the hospital and realizes that Denise tried to kill him.
While the girls frantically try to find Denise before Warren does, Pete is busy carrying out his plan to put Brian's death to good use. Pete's partner was murdered recently and the gang leader who killed him has gotten away with it. Pete arranges to have Brian's body discovered in the car of that gang leader, allowing the cops to arrest him for murder, and at the same time, providing some closure for Jodie and her kids.
The girls are closer than ever and have a new understanding of each other and the things that really matter to them.
