Stark Industries executives Obadiah Stane and Howard Stark argue over Howard's son Tony's invention (the 'Earth Mover') being transformed into a weapon, with Obadiah pushing for the transformation. The boy genius Tony Stark and his father Howard, are on board their plane when it crashes near the archeological dig Stark Industries is performing to find some 'magical rings' (the Makluan Rings), one of which Howard already has.
