“Michael Nesmith in Television Parts” was a very strange music variety and comedy series produced by Michael ‘Wool Hat’ Nesmith formally of “The Monkees”. NBC TV executives saw one of his avant-garde videos and decided they wanted to make it into a weekly series. It debuted on Friday night at 8PM on 14 June 1985 but was so poorly received that it only aired 4 episodes before it was removed from the schedule. The final 3 episodes that had been previously recorded were combined into a 90 minute special and replaced "Saturday Night Live" for 1 weekend on 27 July 1985.
