When a family court judge is taken hostage by a disgruntled father, with a vendetta against the judge, TR tries desperately for a peaceful resolution. As the situation escalates, Shannon is in a race to negotiate with him before Josh is forced to shoot.

A little girl is seen wandering train tracks. Lawson, Stella and Michael race to find her before anything happens to her. When Lawson spots the girl, a train is coming towards her, so he runs and grabs her just in time. They take her to the TR base, where Kerry is waiting. Lawson tells her that she hasn't spoken at all. Kerry talks to the girl who they named Princess, but again, gets no response. They will have to wait for the Department of Human Services. The 'Princess' storyline in this episode was based on the real life story of a New Zealand man who had killed his wife and left his daughter, who was nicknamed Pumpkin by the media, at a train station in 2007.
