Batman works with the Outsiders to hone their abilities. Afterward, he is fighting Zebra-Man when time-lost bounty hunter Jonah Hex arrives to capture him and bring him to War World, to fight in the arenas for the pleasure of its ruler Mongul. However, when Mongul refuses to honor his deal with Hex, the bounty hunter switches sides.
