While Trapper and Gonzo work with a deranged Vietnam veteran, memories of the past flood back to both doctors. Meanwhile, Stanley tries to find ways to save on his taxes. After being attacked by a deranged Vietnam veteran in the hospital where he is a cardiac patient, an acid-tongued poet (portrayed by James Coco) is assisted by Dr. Gonzo Gates (Gregory Harrison), Dr. Riverside, Norse Rippies Brancus and Trapper (Pernell Roberts.) Trapper John and Gonzo try to keep a deranged Vietnam vet, who shot a poet, from being locked away until they can figure out why he did it.
