In the far off and distant future, mankind has evolved to the point where they no longer care about such things as petty emotions. The only thing that they care about is survival, and in this advanced age of space warfare, the remorseless onslaught of the human race soon becomes too much for other species to bear. However, another species, the Reptids, has developed a secret weapon; a bomb that will force mankind’s emotions to reawaken, thus making them ineffective to defend themselves when they realize the atrocities that they have committed. Their plan goes well until a single human ship, the Nemesis, takes note of them and begins to chase them. In an effort to conceal their plans, the Reptids self destruct, though the force sends the Nemesis whirling through a wormhole. When the crew awakens, they discover that they now have emotions, and in the twenty-first century, they must find a way to get back home and stop the Reptids from re-creating their bomb.
