Those dreams turn into a nightmare when a dead body turns up in his newly opened establishment, The Yankee Dollar, and Ripley becomes the prime suspect. Investigating Officer, D.I. Peter Carlisle takes an instant dislike to Ripley and becomes even more determined to nail him once he takes a shine to his lovely wife, Natalie.

Elsewhere, Ripley's problems are compounded by his chaotic family life that spins increasingly out of control.
