The series deals with the separated Monique van Someren, who along with her teenage daughter Kim moves to Wolfseinde, which returns her to her Brabant origin. She becomes mayor of the double town Wolfseinde, a merger between a same place and Rooijdonk. While the two merged populations are already at loggerheads with each other, there is a body found in the channel between the two formerly autonomous villages. Married Turkish detective Kadir Gharsallah will investigate the matter, Van Someren falls in love with him. Daughter Kim also falls in love with Matt Kersjes, a resident of the local trailer park.
