Set in the world of celebrity and tabloid journalism, Adam stars as Alex Burchill, the columnist of "Lowdown"
, which appears in Australia’s biggest-selling tabloid newspaper, the Sunday Sun. Alex interviews high profile celebrities for his column, some willingly – others not so. The readers love it! And the ailing Sunday Sun relies on Alex to pull a scandalous story out of his hat each week.
also stars Kim Gyngell as the Sunday Sun editor, Paul Denny (Satisfaction) as photographer Bob; Beth Buchanan (The King, Neighbours) as Alex’s on-again-off-again girlfriend Rita Davies; Dalian Evans (The Wedge, Eagle & Evans) as Alex’s inept GP and Julia Zemiro (RocKwiz, The Wedge) plays Hope the sassy publicist.
With Geoffrey Rush narrating,the comedy promises to be fresh, fast and funny, featuring eclectic characters, roller-coaster narratives and plenty of conflict. Over the next seven weeks, "Lowdown"
will be filmed at over 40 different locations, in and around Melbourne. The series will air next year on ABC
