The Tripods is a series of 25 episodes in two seasons from the 80's. It's based on the SF roman trilogy "The Tripods" by John Christopher.
In the year 2089 - no wars nor hardships but it's not the human race that reigns about the world. it's the tripods - huge three-legged machines. Teenagers are free until their consecration which makes them amenable to the tripods. To avoid this the cousins Will and Henry are running away in hope to find a group of free people they heard rumors about. Their quest leads them from England to France where they find Beanpole who joins up with them. An adventurous quest full of action and danger...
