Clark Kent/Superman, played by George Reeves
Superman was a baby when his Kryptonian parents, Jor-El and Lara sent him hurtling to Earth in a rocketship. The rocketship crashed landed in a field where Eben and Sarah Kent found the baby in the wreckage. They named him Clark and raised him as their son. When Clark became a young man, his adoptive mother sent him into the world to use his powers to do good. Clark became a reporter with The Metropolis Daily Planet and fought crime as Superman. Being a newsman permitted Clark/Superman to keep close tabs on criminals. Clark often posed as a bumbling young man in order to deflect any suspicions his co-workers had about his true identity. Kryptonite, a metal from Superman's home planet Krypton, is the only thing that can weaken or kill him. |
