GR: A Lot Of Adult Sci-Fi Concepts For A "Kids Sho...Rating: 0 likes, 1 dislikes

Most cartoons made in the 1980's made their shows financially successful by targeting a young demographic group with simple concepts of morality and the mass marketing of show-related toys. "The Adventures Of the Galaxy Rangers" or -G.R for short- tried to squeeze those marketing concepts into a show which was designed for a young adult audience. Alas, the old addage "Too Many Cooks Spoil The Soup" seemed to apply to G.R , as the show ceased production after only one season of 65 episodes. But in it's short run G.R introduced adult sci-fi concepts such as telekinetics, life force energies, genetic manipulation, faster-than-light space travel, cybernetics, artifical intelligence, robotics, dimensional rifts, gigantic super-collider machines and much more to their audience. This effort to expand the minds of it's audience earns G.R a thumbs-up to many hardcore cartoon fans even to this day. If you watched G.R as a child, you might want to give the show a second look to see what adult content might have gone over your head back then. Read more
