Gordon "ALF" Shumway [Puppeteer], voiced by Paul Fusco
Gordon "ALF" Shumway is an alien from the planet Melmac who crashed into the Tanner's yard when his spaceship broke down. He was nicknamed ALF (Alien Life Form) by Willy Tanner in the pilot episode. His home planet exploded due to nuclear energy, causing ALF to take a strong stand against nuclear weapons. ALF describes himself as a “loveable, huggable, alien.” His favorite food is cat, a delicacy on Melmac, causing him to take quite a fancy to the family cat, Lucky. He also enjoys breaking things, eating, watching TV, and buying stuff from the Home Shopping Network. ALF instantly bonded with Lynn and Brian but often rubs shoulders with Kate and Willy. Due to the fact that if he is revealed to the government, he will be captured by the Alien Task Force, ALF spends most of his time in the garage or in front of the TV. |
