	Joshua Smith/Hannibal Heyes [ep. 1-33], played by Pete Duel Hannibal Heyes is a gambler and a risk-taker but he is tired of living on the run from the law and the amnesty that has been offered by the Governor is extremely important to him. He has a very good, quick brain and is the 'thinker' in the team of Heyes and Curry, although at times he gets it horribly wrong. He and Kid Curry are cousins, having grown up together in Kansas after their parents were killed in the American Civil War, and after having spent a fairly wild youth he now wishes to become a law-abiding citizen.
