Episode Notes

This episode serves as a pilot to a successful spin-off series, The Jeffersons.

Carroll O'Connor, Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers do not appear in this episode. Jean Stapleton only appears briefly at the beginning to wish Louise Jefferson farewell.

Crossovers between All in the Family and The Jeffersons would be scarce. Archie, Edith, Mike and Gloria never appear on The Jeffersons, however, George, Lionel and Louise all appear on All in the Family at least once hereafter.
