This review is based on the first three episodes only. Most Americans will be offended by the abrasive, rude, egomaniacal behavior of Zahi Hawass. While he is one the foremost men in Egyptology, his greatness is totally diminished by his PHAROAH attitude. His personality is so patently offensive on screen, the show is impossible to watch for any period of time by most. Too bad, because it is interesting and educational. Truly great men exhibit civility and consideration for others. Zahi is a petty dictator that holds the keys to all things Ancient Egyptian. If you want to film anything on that subject, it appears you have to kiss Zahi's gluteus maximus. He obviously has become a petty dictator. His attempts to affect an Indiana Jones posture are ridiculous. Zahi may be the best in his field, but obviously devoid of all people skills and appears to revel in his ability to be abusive without reprecussions. Civility to subordinates is a hallmark of a great man. Abuse and self-agrandizment are the tools of a small man. It may be a cultural thing, but most Americans will not tolerate such outrageous behavior. Read more Review posted on Thursday, August 5th 2010 at 2:36 pm |
