Sharp tongued, Barbara Liversidge works as a receptionist in a doctor's surgery with Doreen, another receptionist. Barbara is married to cab driver, Ted. They have two children. Their son, Neil, is still living with his parents and working as a barman part-time with no indication he'll ever look for full-time work. Their daughter, Linda, is married to local tv personality Martin Pond who has his own current affairs show titled Pond Life. Barbara rides herd on her family and the patients in the doctor's surgery.
