Charlie decides to keep Jim busy and hires him to accompany him to Bath as a "minder" of a priceless painting he has received as payment of a debt. In Bath, Jim begins an affair with Cressida Draper, the wife of Charlie's associate Rupert, unaware that she is snaring him as part of a greater plot which will see him framed for the murder of a man yet to be killed...
