In an age of war and magic the forces of good and evil wage war for control of humanity. Guts born from a dead woman and marked at birth by the forces of evil. Must find his place in this world of violence and death with an almost unmatchable fighting skill. He will destroy all, human or demon who try to stand in his way. Griffith the general with the face of an angel who will stop at nothing to accomplish his dream of ruling his own kingdom. He has a skill beyond his years of fighting like Guts the forces of evil have a watchful eye on his life. Finally there is Caska, friend and soldier of Griffith since she was a child. She too has to find her place in the world torn between a past of abandonment and a future of unrequited love. These three people are joined by a common fate orchestrated by forces they dare not to imagine.
