Re-make of the 1945 Warner Brothers classic about a single mother's struggles to raise her two daughters, support herself, and find love in 1930's Los Angeles. Kate Winslet plays the title role which won Joan Crawford an Academy Award for Best Actress in 1945. Evan Rachel Wood and Guy Pearce co-star in this adaptation of James M. Cain's classic novel which airs in five parts on HBO.
