Let the Battles Begin - Part 3 - Recap

It is the Final Night of the Battle Rounds and Seal, Delta Goodrem, Joel Madden and Keith Urban have their mentors for the last time with them to help decide who is going to the LIVE shows. Darren Hayes for Team Delta, Ricki-Lee for Team Seal, Benji Madden for Team Joel and Megan Washington for Team Keith. The night kicks off.

First up for the night is Team Joel. He gets them together and says that Carmen Smith and Michelle Serret-Cursio are going to battle. He says that they are going to sing “We Found Love” by Rihanna. They get into rehearsal and Joel says that they sing great. He says that Carmen needs to connect. Michelle says that Carmen is going to go emotional with the song. They sit down with Carmen and tell her that she is going to have to connect. They talk to Michelle and say that she has what it takes if she allows it. They come out and battle it out. Afterward, Delta says that Carmen is really relaxed and says that Michelle’s energy was better. Keith says that Carmen had the extra swagger. Seal says that Carmen was more relaxed. Joel says that he is going to have to go with Carmen Smith.

Next up is Team Seal. He says that Sam Ludeman and Kieran Fraser are going to battle. They are going to sing “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay. They get into rehearsals and Seal says that Kieran needs to ditch the track suits. He says that he doesn’t believe any of them with this song. Ricki-Lee says that they need something that will make them unique. Ricki-Lee says that they have to fight for it. They talk to Kieran and say that he needs to show them who he is. They come out and battle. Afterward, Joel says that Kieran is interesting to him and says that Sam did a more comfortable performance. Delta says that Kieran showed a better show. Keith says that Sam is more believable. Seal says that Kieran is hiding still and Sam looked afraid. He says that he is going to have to go with Sam Ludeman.

Team Keith is next. He sits down with his team and says that it is going to be with Kelsie Rimmer and Brittany Cairns. They are going to be singing “Turning Tables” by Adele. They get into rehearsals and Keith tells Brittany that she can get out of the norm with this song. She says that Kelsie might have this in the bag. However, she picks up on the advice. Keith tells them that they have to bring out the power. Megan says that they are going to have to work with them. They meet with Kelsie and she says that she is going to be aware of Brittany. They meet with Brittany and she says that she is going to watch out for Kelsie’s range. They come out and battle. Afterward, Seal says that they both sang so well. He says that Brittany connected more. Joel says that Brittany connected more and says that they were both really good. Delta says that she loved the artistic choices that Kelsie made. Keith says that he has to talk to Megan. Keith gets back and says that he is going to go with Britany Cairns.

Next up is Team Delta. She sits down with her remaining singers and says that the next pairing is going to be between Matt Hetherington and Jerson Trinidad. She says that they are going to sing “Higher Ground” by Stevie Wonder. They get into rehearsals with Darren and Delta. They work on toning and Delta says that they are going to have to give it all to the audience and Darren says that Matt is going to have to watch out for Jerson. Delta says that they are going to have to reach the higher ground. They get into the battles and sing. Afterward, Keith says that they were both great, but says that Matt had the edge. Seal says that he gravitated toward Jerson and says that it was better. Joel says that Matt dominated, but Jerson has a more unique voice. Delta says that she is going to have to take Matt Hetherington.

Next up is Team Joel. His last two to pair are Sarah De Bono and Yianna Stavrou. He says that they are going to sing “Heavy Cross” by The Gossip. They get into rehearsals and Yianna says that she is a little sick and can’t hit the high notes. Joel tells Sarah that she is going to have to hit them and she says that she doesn’t relate to the lyrics. Joel says that they will do great. They come out and battle. Afterward, Delta says that Sarah was more centered and strong. Keith says that they were both great, but says that Sarah was a little bit more centered. Seal says that they over performed a little bit. He says that Sarah was more centered. Joel says that they both are more then just beautiful. He says that he is going to have to go with Sarah De Bono.

Next up is Team Keith. His last paring is going to between Brett Clarke and Darren Percival. He says that they are going to sing “Shower the People” by James Taylor. They get into rehearsals and Darren makes Megan get emotional. She says that he has so much joy when he sings. Brett has a hard time getting out the emotion of the song and Keith says that he is going to have to push that out. They meet with Darren and he says that he is in the right place. They meet with Brett and Keith says that he has grown. They get into the battles and sing. Afterward, Seal says that they were great and says he loved Brett’s tone better. Joel says that Darren stole the song. Delta says that Brett told her story, but Darren stole the show. Keith says that they were both great. He says that he asks Darren why he hasn’t made it. He says that he doesn’t really know and says that he loves singing. Keith says that he is going to have to go with Darren Percival.

Up next is Team Delta. She pairs up her last pairing between Ben Bennett and Jesse & Ashleigh. They are going to sing “Fireflies” by Owl City. They get into rehearsals and Ben has some confident issues. Jesse & Ashleigh are more confident. They come out to battle. Afterward, Keith says that Jesse & Ashleigh were good, but Ben was amazing. Seal says that Ashleigh & Jesse did well, but agrees that Ben took it. Joel says that it is Ben who took it. Delta says that she is proud of them. She says that she has to go with Ben Bennett.

Last battle is Team Seal with Emma Louise Birdsall and Casey Withoos. He says that they are going to sing “At Last” by Etta James. They get into rehearsals with Ricki-Lee. Emma Louise is quietly dangerous. Casey says that her range will help her out and Ricki-Lee says that she needs to sing it out more. Seal asks her to sing louder too. They work on their tuning and Seal says that this is all for nothing. Seal and Ricki-Lee sit down with Emma Louise and say that they need to belt it out. They meet with Seal and Casey says that she has improved because of the comments they have given her. They come out and sing. Afterward, Joel says that Casey is so beautiful and says that Emma has a way of pulling him in. Delta says that they were both in it. She says that she would go with Casey because there is so much there. Keith says that the nerves got to Casey and says that Emma won this. Seal takes a Time Out and talks to Ricki-Lee. He comes back and says that he is going with Emma Louise Birdsall. That is it for the battles. The LIVE shows are next week!
