Episode Notes
The symbols ボンカーズ on the "Bonkers" banner (on the roof of the skyscraper where Bonkers captures Z-Bot) are not random. The sign is written in Katakana (one of Japanese alphabets) and really reads "bo-n-ka:-zu" - this is how the word "bonkers" is spelled in Japanese.
The blue vertical sign on the Tokyo police station is spelled as 警察署 (keisatsusho) - this really means "police station" in Japanese.
The two hieroglyphs on the map in Sgt. Tetsuo's office are 東京 (toukyou) - "Tokyo".
(However, the scheme itself doesn't look like the real map of Tokyo).
Cultural References
There is a slight spoof of
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) in this episode. The four Ninja Kitties are named after famous musicians (Bach, Brahms, Beethoven, Ringo), while the Ninja Turtles were named after artists. Z-Bot, the main villain, is a pink brain who needs a mechanic body (this could be a reference to Krang).
