The Glass Virgin

The Glass Virgin tells the story of Annabella Lagrange and the terrible secret that her very wealthy parents have kept from her. When Annabella finally discovers the truth, she runs away and eventually finds solace in the company of her family's former groom, who's a young Irishman, with the very Spanish name of Manuel Mendoza.
Together, Annabella and Manuel travel the Northumbria countryside from job to job in his horse and caravan with only Manuel understanding Annabella's situation.
