The Case Of The Crime Circus - Recap
C.O.P.S File 55302
A security guard is startled by a gigantic robot. The toy robot steals the bank vaulut and we see that it’s Dr. Badvibes. The C.O.P.S team interview the guard who tells them that the robot had a circus face on it. Bulletproof tells the team to investigate. Longarm and Hardtop investigate the circus which is in town. A young girl named Sam tries to steal her way into the circus entrance by finding a wallet. Hardtop and Longarm spot her but let her go because she’s a child. Dr. Badvibes is the ringmaster of the circus but he’s wearing a disguise so Hardtop and Longarm don’t arrest him. However, when Hardtop tries to question him, Dr. Badvibes traps him in the basement. Longarm spots Sam again and tries to talk to her but she takes off running. Sam falls into a chute and falls into a hidden money stash being piled by Dr. Badvibes’s robots. She is restrained by the robots. Then Longarm arrives at the same location and is put to sleep by gas.
Dr. Badvibes communicates with Big Boss who tells him to carry on the charade with the circus and continue stealing money. Longarm, Hardtop and Sam are now trapped in the same cell and Badvibes tells them his dirty plan. Badvibes next move is to rob the gold depository in the city. Sam tells Longarm and Hardtop what she saw. Longarm comes up with the plan to lure one of the robots near the cell and make it break them out of prison. It works and they get out but the doors are reinforced. They send Sam up a vent in the building and tell her to get to their squad car and radio the precint. Sam is caught again by Badvibes. Sam lies to him about how she escaped and pretends to be his partner in crime.
Badvibes sends out his robots for Longarm and Hardtop but they escape and radio headquarters. Sam and Badvibes are about to hit the gold depository when the C.O.P.S team arrive. Longarm and Hardtop get hooked in by a large robotic hand controlled by Badvibes machine. Sam sees what's happenining and decides to stop it by messing up the internal controls. The hold on Longarm and Hardtop is released. Badvibes sees the end and shoots himself out of a cannon escaping into another part of the city. Bulletproof narrates that Badvibes machine was taking apart and the stolen money was returned to Empire City. He then closes the file on Crime Circus.
