2 Gallery Images	Toby Meres, played by Anthony Valentine Anthony Valentine played the role of Toby Meres - a young man from a titled family who has been to a public school and has a sadistic streak in his nature. Callan and Meres work well together, even though the two men come from entirely different backgrounds. Meres is frequently insolent to Callan, possessing a sarcastic manner which he uses to get under Callan's skin. He believes that he is superior to Callan and that he is second in importance only to Hunter himself. Callan frequently cuts him down to size.
