A California teenager, Kevin Keene, and his dog, Duke are transported to another world where video games are real. He is given the title of Captain N: The Game Master, and is set to battle Mother Brain, who plans to take over the gaming world. With the help of some video game heroes, such as Mega Man, Kid Icarus, and Simon Belmont, as well as Princess Lana and Gameboy, he takes off to rid the video game world of the bad guys.
