This five-part series chronicles the history of the global anti-apartheid movement that took on South Africa’s entrenched apartheid regime and its international supporters who considered South Africa an ally in the Cold War.
The film is anchored in time and history, but it also provides a broad tour of music from the global movement against the brutal Apartheid regime. We’ve collected a sampling of songs from traditional South African folk songs, and protest songs from famous musicians from Miriam Makeba and Hugh Masekela to U2 and Stevie Wonder. (
