Hannibal

Hannibal

The series will feature the characters known from Thomas Harris' novel "Red Dragon" - FBI Agent Will Graham and Dr. Hannibal Lecter, who were portrayed by Edward Norton and Anthony Hopkins, respectively, in the movie version of "Red Dragon."

The straight-to-series order means that the program will not be run through the pilot season gamut, as most shows are. This will actually be the third incarnation of Harris' "Red Dragon" novel. The original was a movie made in 1986 titled "Manhunter," which featured "CSI's" William Petersen as Agent Graham and "Deadwood's" Brian Cox as Dr. Lecter.

Recaps
1x9: Trou Normand recap: The episode begins with the team at their latest crime scene in Grafton, Virginia. The killer has used dead bodies to construct a totem pole. The head appears to be a recent dead body and the others are really old. Jack tells Will that seven dead bodies were dug out from the spot where the pole is constructed. This means that the killer knew where the seven bodies were buried. Will reruns the crime in his head and concludes that the killer brought his last victim to the site and made him watch his creation. He then killed him and placed him on the top of the pole. Cut to Will waking up in Hannibal’s waiting room... read more.

1x8: Fromage recap: The episode begins with Will fixing some junk. He hears some noise and goes out to check, but he finds nothing. At a string store, a guy tries to play a cello, but he tells Tobias, the owner of the store, that these strings are harder to bow than the regular strings. Tobias tells him that he should learn to bow authentic strings. It turns out that some of these strings are made out of human gut. Will calls Alana to help him find a coyote. He tells her that the sound he heard was probably that of a coyote. They set out to find the animal... read more.

1x7: Sorbet recap: The episode begins with Will lecturing his class about the murders committed by the Chesapeake Ripper. He tells the class that the Ripper kills in the “sounders” of three. He uses the word “sounders” because the Ripper considers his victims as pigs. He points out that the removal of the organs proves that the Ripper could be a surgeon or at least someone with surgical knowledge. Jack is at the academy, listening to the lecture. Will then tells the class about Miriam Lass, Ripper’s latest victim, and her severed hand that was recently found. Will emphasizes on the fact that Miriam’s hand was found only because the Ripper wanted it to be found... read more.

1x6: Entrée recap: The episode begins with a man lying on the floor of a cell. The cops are asking him to get back on his feet. On seeing no response, they go inside to check on the man, Dr. Gideon. They then rush Gideon to the emergency room. The nurse fixes him up to some machines, but before she could put him on saline he gets out of the bed and stands behind the nurse. Cut to the scene where Jack and Will arrive at the Baltimore State Hospital for the criminally insane. Jack tells Will, that thanks to Freddie, there is an unconfirmed story floating around that the Chesapeake Ripper is in custody. They go inside and meet Dr. Chilton... read more.

1x5: Coquilles recap: The episode begins with Will sleepwalking, in the middle of the road. The mysterious stag follows him and nudges him. A police car arrives and Will wakes up, and finds that one of his dogs has been following him. The cops ask Will some routine questions. Later, Will arrives to meet Hannibal in his office. Hannibal tells Will that sleepwalking is a sign of ‘loss of control’. Hannibal thinks that Will is having a tough time dealing with some sort of aggression and this could be because Jack is willing to push Will really far, to get what he (Jack) wants. Cut to a scene at a motel, where a man fills ice in the ice box and nervously looks at the customers walking down the corridor... read more.
