"Convoy" was a World War II military series starring John Gavin centering around the transporting of soldiers and supplies via ships on the open seas. Gavin played Commander Dan Talbot of the U.S. Navy Destroyer Escort DD 181 and he was responsible for insuring the safety of a large convoy of merchant ships through dangerous waters.
